ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF SPOTLESS MIND.........

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot?The world forgetting the world forgot.Eternal sunshine of spotless mind each wish accepted and each wish resigned.

A famous line from the movie "eternal sunshine of spotless mind" a quote by Alexandre pope...

The movie is a work of excellence in itself and the topic intriguing.. if there was any such option of erasing ones memory there would be many who would volunteer to do so... some would want to eradicate the memories of someone dead , heart broken or simple humiliating memories... there are many reasons for which an individual would want to erase his memory... but in truth... its people’s memories who define themselves... the mistakes of the past , doings which have been saved in our minds as memories is what makes us who we are! Everything that has happened no matter how small or big, leaves an impact.. sometimes even the most tiny things like a three legged dog limping about can create a crater like impact onto someone’s mind..

Erasing those, would be annihilating a part of the character .... you meet people who bring huge changes into your life, they might be totally opposite to what you are, a total different lookout but that’s what diversifies a mind, gives it more food to feed one.. these things become memories sure but at the same time they make a hell lot of difference to your being... would it be right to wipe off  such self-defining memories? Even though they might be painful ,cause they reminded you of someone?!! Morally it is not.. but humans are such species  who can endure limitless physical pain... but mental?.. very few have the strength to endure it..

The quote is so true.. when one’s mind is a virgin mind ,is left untarnished  from the worldly infections hindu’s call it maya... no mind is as happy as such a one... cause it gets enlightened  by the “eternal sunshine”.... such a situation is a hypothetical one... like the carnot cycle ideal and perfect but  never achieved!Near to perfection yes.. but complete never! It is for this eternal sunshine that Buddha had left his kingdom.. this eternal sunshine known as “moksh" for which many sages meditated....

The movie depicts a very important fact... u can’t escape from what you really are... you fall in love or love someone for a reason.. it is for a mystical reason... no matter how much erasing of minds you do... you fall for the same person again and again.. hence there never is “eternal sunshine” nor there is a” spotless mind”!
